Welcome to John F. Kennedy Montessori Elementary School
Promoting a Community of Learning
At Kennedy Montessori, we strive to maintain an orderly, safe community that respects each child. Our goal is to nurture confident, independent, caring, and responsible lifelong learners and problem-solvers for the twenty-first century. Kennedy offers developmentally appropriate instruction using technology and knowledge-based, hands-on experiences using the Montessori approach.

About Us
Meeting the Needs of Each Student
John F. Kennedy Montessori Elementary School provides a Montessori Magnet Program for students in kindergarten through grade five and offers a tuition-based Montessori preschool program for 3- and 4-year-olds. Our individualized learning program provides learning experiences for students and addresses the specific academic and social needs of each student. Students experience success through a combination of small-group and individualized instruction in a multiage setting that is designed to foster independence and self-direction. Common Core State Standards are used to guide our instruction while utilizing the Montessori Method.
Meet Your Counselor
Shasta Hoback
I am so happy starting my second year at Kennedy. Although I began my school counseling career in January of 2018 but I have been an educator for fifteen years. My husband and I have four amazing children and an equally amazing niece that we call our own. We enjoy spending our time making memories with each other and our kids. We love going to the lake and being outdoors. I am looking forward to getting to know each of our students and our amazing families!

Only One You!
We will begin whole class counseling for the 2019-2020 school year by celebrating what makes us unique and building a positive school community. We will tackle tough issues and find solutions together. Some topics we will discuss are making and keeping friends, knowing when to speak up and when to listen, overcoming challenges, and being reflective students.
To celebrate how unique we are, each student will paint a rock and these will be placed outside of Kennedy in our landscaping.

Growth Mindset and the Power of YET!
Students will explore the power of possibility. We will work throughout the year on developing a growth mindset. Instead of saying, "I Can't" we will say, "I Can't YET". We will collaborate with one another to discover how to work hard and persevere even when things are difficult.
